Academics
University of California, Berkeley will cut its Chinese, Japanese and Korean courses by over 50 percent for the fall semester, due to state budget cuts. "This means that not everyone currently enrolled will be able to enroll in the fall semester," says Alan Tansman, chair of Berkeley’s East Asian Languages and Culture department. “We recognize that many of you need our courses to complete minor or major requirements, and we sincerely apologize to those of you who will need to change your plans."

Institutes & Research
As of May 1, 295 colleges and universities have space available for prospective freshmen or transfer students who still want to apply for fall enrollment. And 291 still have institutional financial aid available. Source: National Association for College Admission Counseling
